เมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมาเราเปิดตัวความร่วมมือ Google Apps for Education กับสถาบันการศึกษาแห่งแรกของประเทศไทยไป และวันนี้เราตื่นเต้นมากที่ทั้งคณาจารย์และนิสิต คณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยกว่า 5,000 คนจะมา Go Google กัน

แล้วอะไรคือการ Go Google ?
การ Go Google เป็นเรื่องสนุกๆ ที่อธิบายถึงความร่วมมือ การเป็นพันธมิตรระหว่าง Google กับสถาบันการศึกษาในการนำเอา Google Apps for Education มาใช้ ซึ่งมันคือกลุ่มของบริการอีเมล์และเครื่องมือการทำงานร่วมกันที่เป็นระบบเปิด ที่ให้ผู้สอน คุณครู นักเรียนนักศึกษา ชั้นเรียน และครอบครัวทั่วโลกได้ใช้หรือทำงานได้โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย ซึ่งตัวอย่างที่เห็นอยู่บ่อยๆ ได้แก่ Gmail เอกสาร (Docs) ปฏิทิน (Calendar) Google+ และ Groups เป็นต้น


 ด้วยการใช้ Google Apps for Education และด้วยการที่เราเป็นพันธมิตรกับโรงเรียนและมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ ในกว่า 146 ประเทศ เรากำลังทำงานอย่างหนักเพื่อสร้างสิ่งมหัศจรรย์แห่งการเรียนรู้ให้กับนักเรียนนักศึกษามากมายและแน่นอนว่าต้องรวมถึงผู้สอนด้วย เพื่อช่วยสร้างพลังให้กับประชาคมแห่งนวัตกรรม และวางรากฐานทางเทคโนโลยี รวมถึงการเข้าถึงเทคโนโลยีและข้อมูลข่าวสาร

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. พสุ เดชะรินทร์ คณบดีคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย อธิบายว่า “ในฐานะที่เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทย คณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชีเปิดรับโอกาสใหม่ๆ ในการนำเอาเทคโนโลยีและมาประยุกต์กับกรณีศึกษาระดับโลกเพื่อเพิ่มพูนศักยภาพการสอนและประสบการณ์การเรียนของนิสิต การร่วมเป็นพันธมิตรกับ Google ด้วยการสนับสนุนจาก Google Apps Support Program ทำให้เราสามารถใช้ประโยชน์จากเว็บได้เต็มที่ 100% ในการขยายประสบการณ์การเรียนการสอนทั้งในและนอกห้องเรียน ทั้งความง่ายในการทำงานร่วมกันที่มีความหมายกับทุกคน และสิ่งที่ดีที่สุดคือเป็นการลงทุนเพื่ออนาคตของมหาวิทยาลัย โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ เลย


ตั้งแต่วันนี้เป็นต้นไปนิสิตระดับปริญญาตรีทุกคนของ คณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี จะลงทะเบียนเพื่อรับบัญชีใช้งาน Gmail ของคณะฯ โดยบัญชีนี้จะเชื่อมโยงนิสิตเข้ากับบริการและเครื่องมือสำหรับการทำงานร่วมกันในรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่ทั้งใช้งานและเรียกใช้ได้อย่างง่ายดาย ในขณะเดียวกันก็จะมีทีม Google Apps Support Program (GASP) คอยให้การสนับสนุนอย่างใกล้ชิดร่วมกับเจ้าหน้าที่ของคณะฯ เพื่อให้การฝึกอบรมอย่างเป็นขั้นเป็นตอนให้กับนิสิต โดยหวังจะได้เห็นและแบ่งปันเรื่องราวจากคณาจารย์และนิสิตเพื่อเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้กับคนทั่วโลกต่อไป

เทคโนโลยีที่ล้ำหน้าอย่างคลาวด์คอมพิวติ้งและเครื่องมือเพื่อการทำงานร่วมกันมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างมากทุกวันนี้ในการเตรียมและสร้างความพร้อมให้กับคนในรุ่นนี้และรุ่นต่อๆ ไปเพื่อให้มีทักษะที่จำเป็นในการทำงานในวันนี้และวันพรุ่งนี้

เรายังคงตื่นเต้นที่จะสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษาให้กับประเทศไทย เรารู้ว่ายังมีอะไรที่ต้องทำอยู่อีกมากแต่ผลตอบรับที่เราได้มาจนถึงวันนี้น่าทึ่ง และเรามั่นใจว่ายังจะมีอะไรที่ดีๆ ตามมาอีกเรื่อยๆ

 Chula Business School welcomes Google Apps for Education

In May, we announced our first Google Apps for Education partnership in Thailand and today we’re excited to announce over 5,000 Chulalongkorn Business School students and teachers are going Google!

What does it mean to go Google?

Going Google is a fun way to describe partnerships between Google and educational institutions who adopt Google Apps for Education, a collection of free email and open collaboration tools available for teacher, students, classrooms and families around the world which includes Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Google+ and Groups just to name a few favourites.

Through Google Apps for Education and our partnerships with schools and universities in over 146 countries, we’re working hard to make learning magical for students (and their teachers!), to empower innovative communities and to build a foundation of technology and access.

Why is CBS going Google?

Associate Professor Dr. Pasu Decharin, Dean of Chulalongkoran Business School (CBS) explained, “As a leading University in Thailand, CBS has always welcomed opportunities to adopt new technologies and incorporate global best practices into both our teaching expertise and student learning experiences. By going Google with the help of the Google Apps Support Program, we can take advantage of a 100% web approach to enhancing the learning experience inside and outside the classroom. Starting from today, all CBS undergraduate students will begin to sign up for a dedicated CBS Gmail account which connects them to a collection of easy-to-use and easy-to-access collaborative products and tools. The Google Apps Support Program (GASP) team has worked closely with the CBS faculty to provide hands on training every step of the way and is looking forward to sharing the inspirational stories of Thai teachers and students with the rest of the world.

Leading-edge technologies, like cloud computing and collaborative tools, have a vital role to play in helping equip future generations with the skills they need to thrive in the workforce of today and tomorrow.

We’re excited to continue to grow our education partnerships in Thailand, we know there is more work to do but we’ve received such an amazing response to date we’re sure the best is yet to come!
