When people ask questions about vaccines on Google Search, they will see information panels that display the latest updates on vaccine safety, efficacy and side-effects. You can also find information about prevention, self-care, and treatment under the Prevention and Treatment tab, in easy-to-understand language sourced from authorised medical sources and the World Health Organization (WHO).
COVID test availability
We know that some of the most crucial information people are searching for is the availability of COVID tests - both Rapid and PCR. To help them find answers more easily, we’re rolling out a new crowdsourced Q&A feature in Maps and Search that will enable Thais to ask about and share local information on the availability of COVID tests in hospitals and pharmacies. With the help of everyone, you can then find the nearest test available on Google Maps.
Supporting health authorities, organizations, and affected communities
Earlier, we also announced that our philanthropic arm,Google.org provided a 300,000 USD (~10 million THB) grant to help UNICEF as well as partners on the ground to scale up the COVID-19 response in Thailand. This will provide critical, life-saving support to the people who need it most.
We recognize that many more nonprofits need donations, and that Thais are eager to help where they can—so today, we are launching a COVID-19 relief page where Thai users can easily donate to trusted local organizations that are working on COVID-19 response on the ground.
We’ll continue to do all we can to support committed organizations and individuals who are on the front lines of the response. We continue to send our wishes for safety and wellbeing to everyone affected by the pandemic here in Thailand.
